I wish I could sit here and write a “how to” on this but I actually can’t. I truly believe that this is something that everybody will have to figure out on their own, basically take their own journey.
How do you do it? How do you find balance? How do you find the time? How do you have the energy to do it all over again the next day?
I get asked those questions pretty often and I don’t really have a certain way of doing things because each day is different and it is such a trial and error process. I believe that it’s so important to stay busy and your busy may be different from mine but that’s okay! We’re all on a different path in life but we’re all just trying to figure things out. My busy consist of being a full time mom, a student, a full time employee, and a full time blogger as I try my very best to put out new content everyday. Do you think I’m insane yet? Sometimes people tell me that I’m crazy for taking on too much or they will me I should just be focused on being a mom and that’s it. I used to question myself and I started to question everything that I was doing and that’s when I realized that some people around you will make you feel down about what you’re doing for their own selfish reasons but through God anything is possible and that is something I know for a fact.
So how do I find balance? That answer will probably be different all of the time because change is so constant, it almost seems impossible to keep things on a super strict schedule like I want to but life just doesn’t happen that way for me. It’s very simple though, as I make time for those things (my daughter, my relationship, school, work, and blog) because they’re important to me and I know that each of these things need my time/attention and I give that day in and day out. That saying “people make time for what they want to make time for” is a very true statement because that’s how I find my balance in this crazy life, I do everything simply because I have to and because my future depends on it. As I stated earlier everybody’s journey is so different and my way of balancing things can be different from you but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
Here are some tips that I do to keep myself on track on a day to day basis:
- I pray (this is honestly how I get through majority of my days, I ask God to give me the strength)
- create a routine (this is a trial and error process)
- allow room for failed days
- write out your days (I usually do this in my planner)
- remember WHY you’re doing what you’re doing
- make time for yourself every single day (YOU are important too!!!)
- rest and give yourself a break
- prioritize your time
- know when you’re taking on too much
That’s just a short list that helps me with my crazy days when I feel like I have entirely too much to do but I want you all to remember . . .
You have to hit that RESET button sometimes because it can all get crazy and way too overwhelming. I can’t tell you guys how many times I had to hit this button and start all over again because a routine that I thought was working out just doesn’t really fit anymore so here I am trying to write out a new routine and adjusting to the changes. I just want to stress that starting over is okay and it will happen when you have a lot on your plate, we have to remember that nothing stays the same forever and change is inevitable. As long as you wake up with an agenda and give everyday your best because that’s what really counts!
At the end of each day make sure you don’t forget about yourself because everything starts and ends with you. I know days can get super hectic but it can be something small for yourself such as getting Starbucks in the morning, taking a bath, watching TV, reading a book, etc – I mean it can literally be ANYTHING but as much as you’re tending to everything you got going on in your life do not forget to tend to yourself. Fill yourself up first so that you can be more valuable to the ones around you.
